Living with The Family
A new Experience !

If you have a Thai partner, you are about to go through a big change !! They will be offended if you stay outside the family home so you'll have to camp there. In our place we have mum, unmarried sister, Brother in Law and wife(and baby), nephew and us . Personal space is nearly non existant,  and everybody pretty much does what they like. In the biggest bedroom we get the bed and when it's really hot a few others sleeping on the floor to sleep under the airconditioner. If one of them has to wake up early, we all wake up early !  If you're having a snooze on the sofa don't be surprised if they decide to kick off a karaoke session beside you and think nothing of it. Thais don't seem to have the respect for a sleeping person we have, but in their defence, they can sleep anywhere anytime regardless !

They don't seem to be into saying good morning or goodnight or saying anything before going out. They just go.

Possession seems to be 9/10ths of the law. If it looks like food , smells like food and tastes like food , it's gone !  Same goes for alcohol. If someone puts food on the table it's open slather. The people who talk a lot get to eat less. The girls talk all the time. If it's dead quiet for sure you poke your head around the corner and they are eating away full blast.

The bathroom is another story. They seem to have ESP. As soon as you grab a newspaper and take two steps toward the bathroom you hear the door close and the lock engage. Like any big family, there are a couple of people who are so long in the bathroom they should have water lillies growing out of their ears. The skill is to beat them to the bathroom otherwise you gonna wait a loooong time to get in there.
